Link Love – Viva Las Vegas

| April 27, 2013 | 32 Comments

There are only two weeks until my wedding day, so after getting through premarital counselling with my BF last weekend, I am so excited to just let loose and party with my friends in Vegas this Saturday and Sunday! We’re staying at Treasure Island because it was the cheapest hotel right on the strip and I found a pretty rockin’ deal for flights and accommodation if I do say so myself. I’ll give you a breakdown of the trip costs next week.

Last time I went to Vegas, my BF and I stayed at the MGM Grand and let’s just say it was a way more subdued trip than I expect this one to be. We still had a bunch of fun when we were there together, but we both knew we would have had more fun if we were there with a group of friends. What I think is the most exciting part about this trip is that I really have no idea what’s going to happen. My friends have been keeping all of the planning super secret, so I’m just gonna go with the flow and drink up!

Thanks to everyone who read all of my posts this week. I’ve been trying to stay on top of everything, but man has it been tough! I promise to be better at commenting on your blogs and retweeting you once this whole wedding thing is over.

To share some love, here are some of my favourite blog posts of the week. Cheers everyone!

Well I’m just going to go ahead and bookmark THIS post. Very informative. I’ll probably have a wedding website and I’m leaning toward on-line invitations, except for the few family members who aren’t up on the whole internet thing. Thanks for the info!

    • I realized that the only family members I know that don’t have a computer are my grandparents, so I’m just gonna call them after I’ve sent out my invites to make sure they are coming, thus eliminating any need for paper RSVP cards :) You’re welcome!

    Bookmarked. Thanks so much!

With the cost of postage these days, I definitely think it makes sense to have a wedding website. Plus I like it that everything can be found in one place (the places the bride and groom registered, local attractions, the name and address of the hotel where we can get the best rates etc). When the bf proposes I’ll keep all of this in mind.

  4. I need to bookmark this post for my future wedding! Of course, I need that proposal first. But these suggestions make total sense to me.

  5. More tips on wedding websites: Many of them are free but try to sell you upgrade things. Google Forms and Google Maps are amazing. I was able to embed a google map widget that let you put your starting address in and then spit out directions to the venue!
I used google forms for my RSVPs because it dumped it all in a google spreadsheet :-) Just search “how to make a google form” or something similar.

yes thats true but the wedsite i choose was they charge was upgrades but comparatively the cost is low to other sites with lots of features and the customer service was alos good.

Have a rad time! Can’t wait to hear all about it.

T is out on his stag do tonight – bit worried about what kind of a state he might turn up in tomorrow. Yikes.

    And thanks for the link!

  8. Yay! Have a great time! And thanks for the link love :).

Thanks for the mention! And I LOVE Vegas and I am extremely jealous of you right now :)

We had a ton of fun last time, and we were there for 5 days. Going with a group of girls is nice because the hosts at the clubs and bars will be begging for you to go and everything will be free. I don’t think we paid for anything besides our meals last time. We stayed at the Flamingo last time which is kind of close to Treasure Island.

  10. Have fun in Vegas! I’m probably one of those rare people who you have to drag kicking and screaming there. lol! Thanks for the blog mention!

Thanks for including my post – I got some great comments on that one! I hope you have a great time in Vegas!

Thanks so much for including my post. Bf is looking over my shoulder and drooling. He still is really on the Vegas kick. Have so much fun!

  13. Congrats and have a great wedding. I was at the MGM back in 2005 and that place is huge.

  14. Thanks for the shout out. Here’s hoping you have a fantastic time in Vegas!

Check out Mandalay Bay…it is my favorite hotel there!

  16. Brick By Brick Investing says:

I went to Vegas a long time ago when I was single but have yet to go with my wife.

    • It was fun, but I don’t think my BF and I would go back together. There are definitely better places to go as a couple. But we did have fun when we were there and saw a really good Cirque show.
