3 Ways to Eat Like a Fat Kid and Lose Weight Like a Champ

As you all know, I love a good drink and I would eat a whole cake by myself if I could. That being said, every summer, when people are getting their beach bodies ready and prancing around town with their flat abs, I always gain a few extra pounds. I blame the sun because here in Vancouver it’s a rarity, so when it comes out I immediately get into a good mood. When I’m in a good mood, I can’t help but indulge in a few patio beers, mini-burgers, and yam fries more often than I should.

A while ago I stumbled upon this amazing database the Vancouver Sun created that listed all of the major fast food and restaurant chains along with the calorie counts of a number of their dishes. This my friends is a saving grace of a tool and I suggest you use it next time you are starving and the only food place around is Wendy’s. It’s called the Fatabase, and it makes me hungry just thinking about it.

Ok, so that solves my fatty food problem a bit, but what about my love for a good drink? In comes Gizmodo, one of my favourite sites for all things random and mind-blowing. The next time you’re going to the bar with your peeps (do people say that still, or have they ever said that besides myself?) you may want to opt for a vodka soda for it’s low calorie count or a glass of sangria for an extra bit of vitamin C.

But sticking with Taco Time’s chicken tacos and a shot of Stoli won’t really help you lose weight, it’ll just help prevent you from gaining more of it. Since I think gyms are evil money stealers, I workout (or try to) using videos called TurboFire, made by the same people who do P90X. But if you don’t want to spend money on workout tapes, a friend of mine told me about BodyRock which has a bunch of free videos on their website you can do. Or you can just put on some running shoes and run around town for free.

So go on out there after your afternoon workout with a mug of Guinness and a Tim Horton’s chicken ranch wrap snacker and have a fabulous weekend in the sun!
